جملات زير از جستيس‌آ.راسل (شاعر انگلستان) است كه در مورد حضرت امام حسين(ع) نوشته است:

… they wiped his sacred mouth with their lashes.

Oh, thee, the body thrown under the hooves of the quadrupeds,

this is the same chaste body infatuating any spectator.

The blood which flown out of his sacred veins, and dried,

is the celestial mixture, which nothing has ever been tinged with such divine color.

Oh, Karbala , thee the grassless, the naked,

Thee which in you one can find no grass or greenness,

Be it so that you are covered eternally with alas and melody of grief and melancholy,

Since the sacred boy of Fateme's son was fallen down on you,

And there he made a present of his soul to God.

ايروينگ واشنگتن (Irving Washington) مورخ و شرق‌شناس آمريكا درباره حسين(ع) مي‌فرمايد:

On the burning sun of a deserted land and on the heated sands of Iraq , Hussein's soul is immortal.

Oh my hero,

My paragon of braveness.

Oh Hussein!
